After missing two years due to Covid, our inter-club quiz night was back. Tradition states that the winners of the previous quiz had to set the questions, and eventually remembering it was ourselves, Ian Lowcock kindly stepped in as QuizMaster for the evening. Held once again at Boyce's Barrel in Colne.

Size teams took part in the seven round competition, starting by identifying the rivers that flowed through our local towns and villages, then moving on to rounds on 'The year 2023', 'Nature' and 'Pot Pouri'. We wisely decided to play our joker on the Pot Pouri round, earning us double points for 9/10 correct answers.

This brought us to half time, and pie time, with a traditional Pie and Pea supper.

Points at the half way stage running very close:

Burnley & Pendle 37 1/2 points
Blackburn & District 'A' Team 37 points
Blackburn & District 'B' Team 37 points
Pendle Forest 37 1/2 points
Barlick Clarion 23 points
Chopper Men 26 points

Supper over, and we continued with the final three rounds on 'Cycling', 'Yorkshire' and 'Lancashire' leaving the final points tally (in order) at:

1st Place Blackburn & District 'A' Team 64 points
2nd Place Blackburn & District 'B' Team 63 points
3rd Place Burnley & Pendle 53 1/2 points
  Pendle Forest 39 1/2 points
  Barlick Clarion 38 points
  Chopper Men 38 points

Congratulations Blackburn & District, you get the dubious honour of setting next years questions.
